The Winetree is an American folk duo formed in Kentucky. Ryan Harvey and Isaiah Muller are singers, songwriters, and guitarists. Isaiah also plays the fiddle, piano, and dabbles with electronics. They were both members of The Gravy Locomotive before forming The Winetree and focusing on the harmonies that they'd been so drawn to since the days of their childhood. After writing and self-recording an album called "Kentucky" in 2006 and starting to build a local following, they fell completely off the map. In early 2018, they showed back up in a string of shows opening for and backing Senora May in Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia. 

After popping up here and there at festivals and shows and working on new material, they received a huge push from Casey Campbell (drummer/singer for Buffalo Wabs and The Price Hill Hustle) to record, and with his help, found themselves in a studio in Cincinnati with Rob Fugate (Mind Ignition). Rob recorded and mixed the album as well as co-produced with Casey who received the shadow guidance of mastermind Matthew "Wabs" Wabnitz, fellow bandmate and manager of secret operations for the elusive, underground cult favorite band Mark Michigan and the Gospel Gone Missin'. 

The Winetree’s first studio album is called “What I See When I Go Home”, and the title is a pretty good description of what’s inside. Each song, like a vine, grows and weaves together with the others to create a portrait drawn from the places and people of their upbringings. It’s an album that feels like home, because it was built upon it. It’s not bluegrass, though there is plenty of fiddle. It’s not country, though the stories have come out of the countryside. It’s an album that’s rich in melodies and heavy on harmonies, with words that have been carefully crafted to get stuck in your head and tuck you in at night. It features vocals from Senora May and instrumentation from The Price Hill Hustle.
